Mohit Suri is one of India’s most distinguished international lawyers — a rare professional who has reached the highest levels of both legal practice and competitive sport. With over 23 years of experience, he leads MLegal, a multi-jurisdictional law firm with an active presence across India, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and Singapore.
He has served as Counsel for the Union of India before the Supreme Court of India since 2014, advising on matters of constitutional significance, regulatory policy and government litigation. The Principles That Drive
the Practice
Three core principles, forged across two decades of international legal practice, Supreme Court advocacy and world-class competitive sport.
Principle 01
Integrated Thinking for a Borderless World
The legal challenges that matter most rarely arrive with tidy jurisdictional boundaries. A corporate acquisition may be structured in Singapore, executed in London and subject to regulatory scrutiny in New Delhi — all at once. Mohit Suri’s practice was built for this reality. Having practised across four jurisdictions and alongside global institutions including Latham & Watkins, Greenberg Traurig, Deloitte and KPMG, he understands that the most effective legal strategies account for jurisdictional complexity from the very beginning.
Principle 02
Discipline as a Professional Standard
The same discipline that produces a Commonwealth Gold Medal in powerlifting produces rigorous, thorough and deadline-driven legal work. Mohit Suri trains twice daily while managing a Supreme Court practice, leading a multi-jurisdictional law firm and serving in institutional leadership roles. Discipline, for him, is not a personality trait — it is a professional standard, applied equally to the preparation of a Supreme Court brief and to a competition day in South Africa.
Principle 03
Integrity in Every Engagement
From his earliest days representing clients before the Reserve Bank of India and SEBI, to arguing matters for the Government of India in the Supreme Court, professional integrity has been the non-negotiable foundation of Mohit Suri’s career. Clients engage him not only for his legal expertise but for the certainty that their interests will be handled with complete honesty and care.
